Attention: Mr. Nate Dickey
Dear Mr. Dickey:
I am writing to you in connection with a property I recently purchased at 38 Little Bear Island on Lake Winnipesaukee with the assistance of one of your Associate Brokers, Ms. Nancy DePorter who works out of the Keller Williams Lakes and Mountains Realty office in Wolfeboro NH. I cannot begin to express my appreciation for finally finding such a conscientious Broker who understands the full service of this business. I have been purchasing properties since 1982 and after 35 years I’ve have owned 9 properties from Colorado, to New Jersey, to Maine and now to New Hampshire with currently a home in Concord and now a cabin on Little Bear Island. Throughout my 35 years of experience working with Brokers, I’ve never seen anyone so committed to making the customer happy! Nancy did everything to make this deal happen! After putting in an offer, we embarked on the inspection process. Nancy coordinated all aspects of this since my businesses are located in NJ, NYC, and Philadelphia and free time is something I do not have a lot of. Nancy, provided thoughtful recommendations on whom to contact for the inspections and then also picked up and brought those inspectors to the island for the home review. Also, never having lived on an island, not having a boat license and not having a boat, I can tell you, we embarked on this endeavor with great trepidation. Nancy, did all should could to assure us of our decision and even went so far as to bring her husband to the cabin we are buying to meet with us and alleviate our concerns over island life, how to winterize the home and what to look for in purchasing a boat. I cannot tell you how easy it would have been for Nancy to simply provide a phone number and back away. At all times, she offered her services and never backed away from getting the various tasks done. She went above and beyond throughout this process assisting directly with every aspect of this Closing!
Also, as if that’s not enough, the home that our family is purchasing will need to be expanded. Nancy, provided excellent recommendations on builders, assisted us with obtaining quotes to repair a damaged septic on the property, provided us with DES issues, tree conservation requirements and countless other things to be considered. She made repeated calls to DES to obtain assurances that we could build the addition we plan to do. After meeting with the builders who will assist us with this project, I can obviously see why Nancy is associated with them. They are pro’s just like Nancy!
We unfortunately live in a world where people often do not take time to make mention of the value of our employees. My company has 66 FT and 23 PT employees who often go above and beyond yet my clients rarely take the time to express their appreciation. With that said, I did not want to be remiss and not let you know the “true value” of the employee you have at Keller Williams with Nancy DePorter. As a business owner, I set my “bar” quite high. After 36 years of working, I’ve never worked less than 1,000 a year in overtime. I believe in hard work and making my customers happy. Nancy exemplifies that same dedication to her trait and her resourcefulness in assisting us throughout this purchase was simply exemplary and thus the reason for this letter to you.
I would hope you will share the contents of this letter with Nancy and likewise feel proud that someone “carries the Keller Williams Flag” so profoundly as Nancy does!
Again, thank you for all your assistance with the purchase of our home on 38 Little Bear Island in Tuftonboro NH.
Have a great day!

"Nancy and Doug de Porter made parting with our beloved island summer home that we had owned for 42 years as painless as possible. They approached selling our quirky island property with enthusiasm and joy. Nancy was easily reachable, communicated with us around each showing, shared feedback and gently coached us about price. Although we were three sellers with often different points of view, Nancy and Doug were skilled at listening to our varied opinions and suggesting a workable path forward about what needed to be done. They hired an excellent photographer to showcase our property and even got aerial shots with a drone. The process of working with Nancy and Doug was a delight. They are professional, forthright and steeped in island lore, having lived on islands here for years. Most importantly of all, Nancy and Doug found us the perfect buyers. "

Keller Williams Lake and Mountains Reality
My wife Sheila and I are very happy that we selected Keller Williams Lake and Mountains Reality and most importantly Nancy and Doug DePorter as our realtor.
As a former Sr. VP of Operations I can attest to Nancy and Doug’s professionalism. Their friendly “can do” attitude made them stand out from all the other possible agents. They were proactive in assuring the sale, frequently communicated to us so that we managed our expectations, and executed the sale flawlessly. Their professional photographer captured the complete essence of our island home: amazing views, the openness and brightness of the interior, as well as the additional amenities of Rattlesnake Island (hiking trails, views from the top of RSI, our common area beach, and the Rattlesnake Island landing / trailer storage area). Nancy and Doug’s upfront work resulted in us receiving 3 offers in 4 days with a backup offer a few days later.
Nancy and Doug provided essential advice, input, and recommendations which greatly reduced the stress of selling a home. They moved the process along as quickly as possible, enabling us to close early. Nancy and Doug have extensive island living experience. They have two boats and are masters at Lake Navigation and docking under all conditions.
Nancy and Doug’s accessibility by phone, text, or personally was commendable. Case in point, they came out to RSI to have us sign a document instead of us being inconvenienced by anadditional trip to mainland! More importantly, they called us after “normal working” hours to let us know the details of the closing.
I’ve bought / sold six different properties in four different states, Nancy and Doug are the best!

Dear Island Neighbors,
Paul and I wanted to take a minute to share our really positive experience with Nancy and Doug DePorter of Keller Williams Lakes and Mountains Real Estate. We have bought and sold a few regular properties and a camp as well as a lot on Rattlesnake Island over the 30 years we have been married. We can say with some confidence that all real estate agents are not created equal. Our experience with Nancy and Doug this past year has been a remarkably unusual experience for us. The thought of selling our beloved camp on the island was not something we treated without some importance to us. It was not so much the dollar value as it was knowing how special an island property purchase can be for someone like we were when we bought ours 12 years ago.
We had attempted to use another "island specialist" when we sold our adjoining lot a few years ago and were really put off by the fear of boating in less than perfect conditions as well as being out on The Broads. Also the lack of follow through just was not something we were willing to go with. We ended up selling that property in a private sale, which is not a process we ever plan to repeat.
When we decided to sell our camp last fall, I did some research on the Winnipesaukee.com forum and saw some nice comments about Nancy. She had also done a nice newsletter about island living that really conveyed our common love for the island life. We decided we would speak with her to see if she would be a good fit for our needs. At our first meeting, it was quite striking how down to earth and straight taking as well as knowledgeable she really is. I guess all of that firsthand knowledge of island living really gives her an advantage on what’s a big deal and what’s not.
Thankfully we found Nancy and Doug. We do know firsthand that this husband and wife team are perfect agent partners! They aren't afraid to get out on the lake to show properties and they also do not discourage clients that may be interested in a property on The Broads, which was especially important to us.
Around the same time we were listing the camp, we also listed our Hollis property. The difference between Nancy and our agent down south was night and day. Nancy sets up your listing and then sends you the link to proof read it and to get your input on any changes that you would like to make before it goes live. (Our other agent just plowed forward with a less than perfect listing and it was like pulling teeth for many days, with threats, to get changes made.)
Nancy and Doug have a professional photographer that they use for the listing photos. You may not think this a big deal, but it is! (I had to retake each and every picture for our Hollis listing!) another great feature is that Nancy and Doug do not put a lock box on your door. They believe in truly representing their clients by attending each and every showing.
The best part about Nancy and Doug was a real grounded sense of what was not important for us to worry about. They took what can be a real stressful time and had just the right touch of urgency without getting us worked up. We had many showings where we had to coordinate getting out of the camp and Nancy always worked with us so effectively and considerately.
Nancy and Doug brought us a buyer this spring and was able to work us through a fairly frustrating first time buyer with too many hours of how people buy houses on TV. We were able to get through multiple back and forth Purchase and Sales in just a few days. Nancy always made us feel like we were her only priority. The deal ended up falling apart on the buyer’s side and this is when we were most impressed with Nancy and Doug...
Paul and I had come to realize how much we really wanted to keep the camp for a while longer and felt uncomfortable pulling the listing from them. Nancy’s reaction to the loss of a potential commission speaks volumes about her and his character. She explained to us how she was not surprised, as our love of our property and Lake Winnipesaukee had shown through. They were completely understanding.
We don’t meet people with this much class and integrity very often these days, and to meet them in the real estate business is particularly unusual, I would imagine.
If you are considering listing a lake property on an Island or mainland, please give Nancy and Doug a call to set up an interview. We think that you will be as impressed as we were too. They are a pleasure to deal with and they really pay attention to details. Having someone who loves the lake and are also islanders find you a place or find a new owner for your place is invaluable.
If you would like to discuss anything about our experiences with Doug and Nancy or anything else lake related, please feel free to call. 603-566-6449 - Celia

Nancy DePorter, Associate Broker of Keller Williams Lakes & Mountains Realty, served as the selling realtor on our NH vacation home and boat slip in Alton Bay. While we were out of state, she proved to be our reliable point of contact for facilitating showings and ultimately the sale of both properties. We could not be more pleased with her level of professionalism. Vincent and Joanne Santonastaso
My wife Megan and I would like to thank Nancy DePorter for her hard work and commitment during the purchase of our home in Alton, NH. Nancy is very courteous and dedicated. Since this was a long distance purchase, most of the transaction was done over the phone and by email. Her response time was impeccable and her manner, professional. Not only is she very trustworthy and good at what she does, but we are happy to call her a new friend. Thanks again, Nancy!
I met Nancy while in the midst of fulfilling a lifelong dream of purchasing an island property on Lake Winnipesaukee. When I finally found the property that was perfect for my needs, Nancy served as my buyer’s agent. Her experience, professionalism, dedication and passion for life on the islands is unparalleled. Her advice and experience as a Realtor and “islander” allowed me to quickly gain confidence and trust in her guidance through the entire process. All through the transaction from writing the offer to closing the deal, she was right there, a phone call away to answer any of my questions and keeping me updated as the deal progressed. Her honesty and integrity mixed with a wonderful personality made my purchase an absolute pleasure. If you are in the hunt for any property, especially an island property, I could not think of a better person to call. There are many unique things to consider when dealing with island property, and who better to help you buy or sell than somebody who has been an “islander” her entire life. She is the best in the business and I could not have asked for a better Realtor to represent me.

When I decided to seriously consider buying an island property I knew nothing about living on an island and very little about the lake. It was my great fortune that Nancy DePorter was the realtor I made contact with! Nancy helped me focus my search and then literally spent days showing me properties until I found the one I was looking for. In the course of doing so she shared her vast knowledge of the lake and of island living. She skillfully guided and supported me through the negotiations. I now not only have a unique and special property but also a good friend! I cannot recommend her too highly to anyone who wants to buy or sell a property on or near the lake.
